Coordinators/organizers:

Lene Auestad is a Research Fellow in Philosophy at the University of Oslo. She lives in London and writes on psychoanalysis and ethics/political theory. She is affiliated with the Centre for Studies of the Holocaust and Religious Minorities, Oslo, and has followed courses at the Institute of Psychoanalysis, London.

Håvard Friis Nilsen, former Research Fellow in intellectual history at the University of Oslo (1999-2005), writing on the history of psychoanalysis in Norway. Visiting Scholar at the History and Philosophy of Science Dept., University of Cambridge 2000-01. Today he is the director of the think tank Res Publica.

Karl Eldar Evang is a psychologist (cand. Psychol.) from the University of Oslo, and psychoanalyst. He is a board member of the Norwegian Psychoanalytic Society, and editor of their journal Cathexis.

Aim

The focus of this circle is on human rights from a multi-disciplinary perspective and on discourses about developing inclusive societies. From a human rights perspective, the circle aims to understand how developments within various welfare areas affect the lives of individuals in exposed situations within the Nordic welfare states.
